This is the before picture. Tried very hard to reproduce my style and vision with the digital tools, which to me turned out to be a failure. There are so many things wrong with this picture it makes me nuts. One of my friends made sure to point out her 'manliness', a comment I deeply appreciate.

This is the newest attempt at Atomic Paragon. While not perfect, it is much improved. I would liek to point out that with the exception of some minor details and teh facial expression, this picture was made using the same line art as the original attempt. I hope to show just how far I've come toward producing solid digital work.

Demented: Late 90's

Demented gained a chin and got a tan in the late 90's. Russ and I moved on to Miss Bailey's Algebra class, passing twisted sketches between us like little girls pass notes. Demented became more humanoid largely because I had learned to draw humans. While it was nice to draw him closer to reality, I feel like he lost some of the "fun' of the early concept.

Often called "Putty Man", as to differentiate. Note the single eye and lack of a clear chin location (just like George Lucas, who is also made of clay!). I created Demented as a reaction to "Stretch", while Russ and I were in middle-school math class - thus starting a great tradition of ignoring math teachers in order to draw silly superheroes.
